Ekpe Udoh: Nigerian big man gets NBA coaching job with Atlanta Hawks

Ekpe Udoh of the Detroit Tigers has been hired as an NBA assistant coach by the Atlanta Hawks. Former NBA big man and Nigerian basketball sensation Ekpe Udoh is entering the next stage of his career, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Udoh will join Quin Snyder's coaching staff with the Atlanta Hawks.Udoh hasn't been on an NBA roster since 2019, but he's continued to play overseas, suiting up for clubs in China, Italy, and Japan. Udoh will now get the opportunity to coach Onyeka Okongwu, an American professional basketball player of Nigerian heritage who plays for the Atlanta Hawks. The 36-year-old played for Kyoto Hannaryz of Japan earlier this year, but he has decided to retire and shift to coaching.
