Godson Brume has officially joined Nigeria's elite league of sub-10s runners, smashing his personal best with a 9.93s at the NCAA Championships. Godson Brume has became the fourteenth fastest Nigerian sprinter in history after winning his stacked 100m semifinal in 9.93 seconds and qualifying for the final at the NCAA Championships. As a result, the Louisiana State University sophomore shattered his previous Personal Best (PB) of 10.04s, outperformed the World Championships qualifying mark of 10.00s, and is now the second-fastest in school history. His time is also the fourth-fastest in Nigerian history behind Olusoji Fasuba's (9.85s), Divine Oduduru's (9.86s), and Udodi Onwuzurike's 9.92s.Brume blazed to win his 100m semifinal, inspired by compatriot Favour Ashe, who had earlier clocked a PB and sub-10s of 9.96s to win his race and qualify for the final. Udodi Onwuzurike also advanced with 10.04s for a fourth-place finish behind Brume. This means three Nigerian sprinters will be competing in the 100m final at the NCAA Championships, and all have great chances of medalling.
