Chukwuma threatens Alfred with a stunning 10.85s as Amusan storms to a 100m personal best

Tobi Amusan and Rosemary Chukwuma set new personal bests at the Tom Jones Invitational in Florida. Tobi Amusan and Rosemary Chukwuma of Nigeria raced to lifetime bests in the women's 100m events at the Tom Jones Invitational in Florida. Amusan clocked a Personal Best (PB) of 11.10s (1.6) to finish third, trailing race winner Kiara Grant in 10.99s and Mala McCoy in 11.08s. The Nigerian world champion ran the race fresh off a second-place finish behind former world champion Nia Ali, who clocked a Season's Best (SB) of 12.53s to Amusan's 12.59s. Despite the defeats, Amusan can take many positives from the meet. Her new 100m PB is faster than her previous time of 11.15s, which served as a good benchmark for her season and resulted in her breaking the 100m Hurdles World Record (WR) in Oregon. If she's faster in the 100m flat now, it can only mean another fantastic, if not iconic, season ahead as she prepares to successfully defend her world title in August.
