Ruth Usoro leads the world rankings at the start of the season, and additional Nigerian athletes have outstanding achievements

During the Texas Tech Corky Classic, Nigerian competitors put up a series of outstanding performances, headed by Ruth Usoro. Nigerian athletes are off to a great start in 2024; on Saturday, triple jumper Ruth Usoro topped the park. Usoro won the triple jump competition at the Texas Tech Corky Classic with a decent leap of 13.89 meters. Neja Filipic's 13.90 meters is the world record for this year.Success Umukoro of Texas Tech ran a lifetime best of 23.49 seconds to place sixth overall in the women's 200-meter event, and Ella Onojuvwevwo of Louisiana State University set a personal best of 23.91 seconds to lead her team to victory in the 4x400-meter event.
