Wilfred Ndidi ruled out of Super Eagles AFCON squad due to injury, to be replaced by Alhassan Yusuf

Alhassan Yusuf will take Wilfred Ndidi's position in the Super Eagles AFCON team following the latter's severe injury. Before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been dealt a severe setback with the confirmed injury of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.The 27-year-old midfielder was not there for his team's final match on New Year's Day, when Leicester City defeated Huddersfield Town 4-1 in a Championship match. The Nigerian player's ailment, which now seems severe enough to keep him out of action for the whole AFCON, was the reason for his absence, head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed.
