Mbappe has been named France's captain following the retirement of Lloris

Kylian Mbappe has taken over as France captain from the retired Hugo Lloris, according to a source close to the team. Mbappe, 24, of Paris Saint-Germain, accepted the offer after discussions with coach Didier Deschamps earlier in the day. After losing the World Cup final a month earlier, Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris ended his international career in January. Lloris, 36, had been captain for over a decade.
