Tobi Amusan Inspires Young Athletes in 2nd Edition of Ijebu Sprints/Relays

Young athletes have been motivated by former Nigerian sprinter Abiola Onakoya and world record holder in the women's 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan. Young athletes have been motivated by former Nigerian sprinter Abiola Onakoya and world record holder in the women's 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan.In Ogun State, the two put on the Tobi/Abiola Sprint and Relays Meet, which drew in a total of 468 competitors. The Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode hosted the 2023 edition from November 3–4, 2023.The second edition was attended by 34 secondary schools from the federal capital region of Abuja, Lagos State, Ogun, Oyo, and Ondo. 25 clubs from all across the country participated in the open categories of the 100m and 400m. Eight tertiary institutions in Ogun State participated in both the open events and the relays. A total of 468 athletes across all the categories participated in the second edition, with 762 event entries.
