Grace Nwokocha: AIU bans another athlete and takes away Nigeria's gold medal from the Commonwealth relay

Grace Nwokocha, a Nigerian 100- and 200-meter athlete, has been officially suspended by the AIU due to the discovery of prohibited substances in her body. The Nigerian athlete Grace Nwokocha was handed a three-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for using and possessing the illegal substances ostarine and ligandrol.Nwokocha's ban stems from the positive InCompetition sample that was returned during the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In compliance with the CGF Anti-Doping Rules for the 2022 Commonwealth Games (the “CGF ADR”), the Commonwealth Games Federation (“CGF”) discovered an Adverse Analytical Finding for Ostarine and Dihydroxy-LGD4033 (a Ligandrol Metabolite), which are Non-Specified substances that are always prohibited.Following this, her results in the 100m on 3 August 2022 and in the 200m on 4 August 2022 have been disqualified, together with the forfeiture of any medals, diplomas, titles, points, and prizes.
