Dubem Nwachukwu places second in an international competition in Italy

In the 400-meter race for men, Dubem Nwachukwu ran well in Italy. Dubem Nwachukwu, the top quarter-miler in Nigeria this season, performed admirably in his 400-meter race at the Meeting Citta' Di Padova competition in Italy. Nwachukwu came in second place behind winner Inaki Canal in 45.57 seconds, with Baboloki Thebe coming in third in 46.00 seconds.The gifted young man's performance is his first since the World Championships in Budapest, when he competed in the qualifying heats for the mixed 4x400-meter relay team and advanced to the men's 400-meter semifinals. He opted to change his nationality from the USA to donning the Nigerian colors after having a successful season as a college athlete for Arizona State University.
