At the global Championships in Budapest, Noah Lyles delivered a flawless performance to earn his first 100-meter global championship. At the World Championships in Budapest, Noah Lyles prevailed in a fiercely contested men's 100-meter final to win his maiden 100-meter world championship with a sizable world lead and a Personal Best (PB) time of 9.83s. With his top-end speed in the final 30 meters, Lyles destroyed the competition, leaving the following three finishers in a photo finish to wait patiently for the remaining medal slots. Botswana's youngster Letsile Tebogo proved why he is the future as held on with a good start and finished strong for the silver medal in a National Record (NR) and PB of 9.88s, becoming Africa's fist world medallist in the men's 100m, while Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes settled for the bronze medal in an equal 9.88s.
