HOPE! Tobi Amusan is listed as a competitor for the Budapest World Championships

Tobi Amusan will compete at the World Championships in Budapest after being included on the World Athletics entrance list awaiting her AIU process. After World Athletics revealed the final athlete entry lists, World Champion Tobi Amusan has a slim chance of competing at the World Championships in Budapest. The women's 100m Hurdles confirmed entry list featured Amusan. She can, however, only compete after being cleared by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) procedure. The AIU last month placed the World Record (WR) holder on a temporary suspension due to allegations of doping violations for missing three tests in a 12-month period. In a press release that was posted on her Instagram profile, Amusan asserted her innocence and promised to take the issue to court. The AIU acknowledged her choice and stated that the case will be decided before the World Championships began. If she is found not guilty, she will be present in Budapest to defend her world championship. Her presence on the entrance list is a huge step in the right way because it gives Nigerians hope that, if the court finds their heroine innocent and not guilty of the crimes, she would be allowed to travel to Budapest and take part in another historic adventure.
