Adebayo shines as NBA unveils 4 newly renovated courts in BWB Africa 2023 continues in Johannesburg

4 fully rebuilt NBA courts are unveiled in BWB with Femi Adebayo in attendance. Johannesburg continues to host Africa 2023. This weekend at the American International School of Johannesburg (AISJ), Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa 2023 continues. 80 boys and girls went back to the courts to take part in on-court skill stations, play games, and continue learning from NBA and WNBA players and coaches, both active and retired. Bam Adebayo, a center for the Miami Heat and a two-time NBA All-Star, and 2011 NBA champion Ian Mahinmi both stopped by the NBA Store and interacted with the crowd at Sandton City Mall.The athletes held a quick shootaround, signed autographs for fans, and responded to their inquiries. Shortly after, NBA Africa unveiled four newly renovated basketball courts in Alexandra as part of BWB Africa community outreach and the league’s efforts to make the game more accessible across the continent. The court unveiling was followed by a Jr. NBA clinic for 150 boys and girls from the local community which was facilitated by the current and former NBA and WNBA coaches and players. Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and 2018 Coach of the Year Dwane Casey hosting a FIBA coaches clinic at AISJ in the afternoon. The camp will conclude with championship games and BWB Africa 2023 awards on Monday, July 31, 2023.
