Carlos Alcaraz wins his first Wimbledon title after defeating Novak Djokovic in five sets

Carlos Alcaraz, 20, became the youngest Wimbledon men's singles champion since Boris Becker in 1985, and only the second player since Andy Murray in 2013 to defeat Novak Djokovic on center court. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in a five-hour battle to earn his first Wimbledon title. The youthful Spaniard overcame his more experienced opponent's strong test to inflict Djokovic his first Wimbledon loss in six years and won his second Grand Slam title.Alcaraz at 20-years-old becomes the youngest Wimbledon men's singles champion since Boris Becker in 1985. He is also only the second player to beat Djokovic on center court since Andy Murray did it in 2013.Speaking after the match in an interview with ESPN, Alcaraz said it's a dream come true. "Since I was born, the Big four dominated Wimbledon. After 20 years, my age, seeing my name on the wall, and the trophy, it’s a dream come true,” he said. He becomes the first player to win Wimbledon besides Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray at 20 years.
