Tobi Amusan in YabaTech to inspire Team Nigeria to victory against Ghana and others

At Yabatech Sports Center, Nigeria's best relay teams will compete against some of Africa's greatest relay teams for World Championships berths. Nigeria's greatest runners will compete against Ghana and some of West Africa's best relay teams in the last leg of the Lagos Athletics Series on Friday, July 14th at Yabatech Sports Complex for World Championships tickets. Three Nigerian relay teams will be looking to improve on their Season's Best (SB) achievements from the Region II Championships in Togo, as well as earn their relay berths in Budapest.The men's 4x100m team clocked an SB of 38.73s to win the event in Lome. However, they will need to run below 38.3s in order to be guaranteed a spot in Budapest.Likewise, the women's 4x400m relay squad will be running for a top 16 spot by going lower than their SB of 3:29.09 clocked in Togo. Nigeria is 17th on the qualified list and have to run faster than Botswana's 3:28.79.Finally, the men's 4x400m will be charging for their first World Championships qualification in over a decade by running faster than their SB of 3:02.91. The time is the fastest by a Nigerian quartet since July 2012, and they can even push lower to 3:01 range for a secured spot.Meanwhile, World Record holder Tobi Amusan and Commonwealth Games record holder Ese Brume are scheduled to be at the stadium. Other countries that will be competing are Togo and Benin.
