Nollywood produces 280 movies in first quarter of 2023

According to the estimate, the number of movies produced would fall from 340 in the fourth quarter of 2022 to 330 in the fourth quarter of 2023.According to Adedayo Thomas, Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), in the first quarter of the year, the board received and censored 280 films made by the Nigerian film industry.The report will be forwarded to the relevant Federal Government department as input for the calculation of the nation's GDP for the first quarter. According to the research, the number of movies produced fell from 340 in the fourth quarter of 2022 to 280 in the first quarter of 2023, representing an 18% decline.
