Drake's curse is broken as the artist receives $2.7 million from Adesanya's victory over Pereira

Drake had staked $1.6 million on the outcome of Adesanya's fight with Pereira five months prior, but he lost the wager. Because Israel Adesanya's knockout victory over Alex Pereira at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 287 brought earned a total of $2.7 million for the Canadian rapper, the fabled Drake Curse has been broken once more. The Brazilian mixed martial artist, who had previously defeated the New Zealander of Nigerian descent three times, was stripped of his middleweight championship. In their previous battle, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City last November, Adesanya was defeated by Pereira and forfeited his 185-pound Middleweight title. The early hours of Sunday, April 9, 2023 saw Adesanya knock Pereira out cold, which allowed Drake to make up for his loss. According to reports, the Canadian rapper wagered $500,000 on Adesanya to win, which paid out $885,000, and earned another $1.8 million for his wager that the martial artist from Nigeria would knock out his Brazilian opponent. The Stylebender responded to a question regarding Drake's wager by saying, "Shoutout to everyone who bet on me but you have to understand that when I go into the octagon, I put my life on the line.
