Social media responds to John Dumelo's anti-gay bill stance

Actor and politician John Setor Dumelo's remarks against the contentious "Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill," sometimes known as the "anti-gay bill," have generated a lot of conversation on social media, especially X (previously Twitter). The actor and prospective lawmaker has come under fire on social media from those who claim that his views on the matter are inconsistent.Due to worries about possible infringement of human rights, the measure has drawn criticism from both local and foreign sources while it is being considered by Ghana's Parliament and is pending ratification by the president. Dumelo recently said in an interview on Star FM that he supports the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) stance on the law, highlighting the party's commitment to upholding "family values" in Ghana. Still, he held back from taking a position.
