The 60,000-seat Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan will host the opening ceremony.The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opening ceremony in Abidjan is scheduled to feature a performance by Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Yemi Alade.In a post on her official X handle (previous Twitter account), the singer verified this.She described the chance as a realization of her dreams. "Since 2016, I have dreamed of playing in front of hundreds of dancers and spectators during football festivities at the stadium.“Seven years later, I’m performing at AFCON. It is indeed an honour and a dream come true. It’s just the beginning,” she said.
