Davido is my guy - AY Makun clears the air on 'small preek' joke

He admitted that his joke was a little too late.Nigerian comedian AY Makun has responded to criticism over his joke from October in which he referred to Davido's preek as "small."In an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa for her podcast Toke Moments, he clarified that while Nigerians living abroad took offense at the joke, it was only met with backlash when he returned from tour. He did admit, though, that by the time he returned to Nigeria, the joke must have become less meaningful."I did a tour and I made a joke on David, it was one of the funniest of the set but when the joke came back home it was already stale. It was a trend at the time so that people could connect with it so it was making sense. I'm human and my timing wasn't right when the joke came out," he began.
