Omoni Oboli and Kate Henshaw respond to threats made by the opposition party at the 2023 governor's race

The APC charged Rhodes-Vivour with covertly laying the foundation for violence in Lagos State and urged security organizations to hold him accountable in the event of an incident. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted security agencies in response to remarks made by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a candidate for governor from the Labour Party in Lagos, questioning the conduct of the state's governorship election. On Saturday, March 18, 2023, Rhodes-Vivour accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel in a video of acting like the ostrich as political thugs attacked Labour Party supporters in several sections of Lagos. Based on the voting behavior on February 25, 2023, he made his remarks in response to reports of attacks, voter intimidation, and vote suppression in a number of locations thought to have a high concentration of Labour Party supporters. He issued a warning that, if the episodes persisted without any intervention, party supporters might be forced to resort to violence.
