Amaju Pinnick, a former president of the Nigerian Football Federation, claimed that the event's organizers paid Davido $98,000 in addition to $18,000 for a private jet to transport him to Delta State. Pinnick claimed that after agreeing to the date and taking the cash, Davido did not show up.Davido replied Pinnick in a series of posts on X (Twitter) and his Instagram story where he accused the Ex NFF boss of being a corrupt football administrator under whose leadership Nigerian footballers were owed salaries and allowances.
