2020 saw Iyanya on the verge of suicide due to financial stagnation

The shutdown caused his financial problems to worsen by twofold.Iyanya, a singer and composer, has admitted that he had experienced such a terrible period in his life that he nearly committed suicide.During an interview for the Tea With Tay Podcast, the musician made this revelation and discussed the significant blow he experienced when his financial influx ceased. He described the sequence of occurrences that led to the low point he experienced in 2020. It all began when his old talent agency sued him for allegedly stealing a work car, and the legal dispute went on for a whole year. He was unable to create music at that time or hold concerts or tours, which resulted in a decline in his income. Going on he narrated that he lost his home during his time in court because he could no longer pay his bills, as a result of this he was forced to stay in a hotel and contemplated killing himself.
