Ex-Arsenal forward breaks 48-year record to become Ligue 1 top scorer

Alexandre Lacazette and Elye Wahi, both ex-Arsenal players, have tied a Ligue 1 record that has stood for 48 years. Ex-Arsenal Alexandre Lacazette and Montpellier's Elye Wahi broke a 48-year record by scoring four goals each in Lyon's 5-4 victory in Ligue 1. The 31-year-old attacker scored his 21st to 24th goals of the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season, including a 100th-minute winning penalty, to jump Paris-Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe to the top of the league's scorer's charts. Although Mbappe's goal against Troyes tied the two attackers on 24 goals for the season, Lacazette's incredible feat saw him enter Ligue 1 history.
