Mahrez creates FA Cup history with hat-trick against Sheffield United

Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City etched his name in FA Cup history with a hat-trick that tied a 65-year-old competition record. Riyad Mahrez, an Algerian winger, scored a hat-trick against Sheffield United in the FA Cup semifinal at Wembley Stadium. Manchester City go to the FA Cup final when Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick. Mahrez responded positively to playing the most of Manchester City's recent games by annihilating Sheffield United in the FA Cup, sending the Cityzens to the final for the first time since 2019. With his hat-trick, Mahrez set a number of FA Cup records, including being the first player to score a treble at Wembley Stadium. Aside from Mahrez, no other player has scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup semifinals at either the old or new Wembley stadium, with the previous hat-trick at this stage of the competition occurring before the semifinals were staged at the renowned stadium.
