CAFAwards2023: Osimhen beats Hakimi and Salah to become first Nigerian African Best in 24 years

Striker Victor Osimhen of the Super Eagles and Napoli defeated Achraf Hakimi and Mohammed Salah to win the African Footballer of the Year Award. At the CAF Awards 2023, Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen was awarded the African Men's Footballer of the Year.The Nigerian was placed in the top three along with Mohammed Salag of Egypt and Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, but he defeated the two North Africans to win the award.
