The 31-year-old recently moved to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League this summer, and after the Blue Waves missed out on Lionel Messi, he was expected to provide a counterbalance for the star power in rival teams—Cristiano Ronaldo in Al-Nassr and Karim Benzema in Al-Ittihad.He has had a history of injuries and wasn't healthy when he was signed. This led to a slow start to life as an Al-Hilal player but he was on the rise after scoring his first goal for Al-Zaeem in the AFC Champions League in their last outing. His progress has now been halted after suffering another injury.
