Consequences of kiss-gate continues as Spain announce sacking of World Cup winning coach
Weeks after winning the World Cup, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced Jorge Vilda's dismissal as head coach of the women's national team. As part of "new measures" outlined by the interim president, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced that Jorge Vilda has been removed of his duties as women's national team coach and director. Following successful stints in charge of the Spanish women's junior teams, the 42-year-old accepted the coaching position in 2015. Early on in his tenure with La Roja, he had difficulty finding success, but he eventually guided them to the Euros semifinal and the World Cup.
