Report: English FA want Guardiola if Southgate leaves
Gareth Southgate's successor would reportedly be sought for aggressively by the English FA, who has Guardiola of Manchester City on its shortlist. Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is apparently being considered by the English Football Association as a potential successor to Gareth Southgate, who might step down as head coach of the national team after Euro 2024. Since taking the position in 2016, Southgate has guided England to both the World Cup quarterfinal and the Euro final. Although the FA is reportedly pleased with the work he is doing, he is now under contract until December 2024 and may decide to leave the Three Lions after the upcoming European Championships in Germany.
