Barcelona is accused of "persistent business corruption"

The Spanish prosecutor's office has filed charges against Barcelona for payments made to the deputy chairman of the Spanish football officiating committee. Barcelona has now been accused with corruption for payments made to Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, and they have therefore been formally indicted. Between 1994 and 2018, Negreira served as the deputy president of the Spanish football referees committee. Barcelona was prosecuted as a group, but Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, their previous presidents, were also charged as individuals.
