Liverpool are ready to steal Arsenal's target as the midfield rebuilding continues

Liverpool are apparently interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton, who has been on Arsenal's radar for several weeks. Arsenal appeared to be on track to recruit Southampton's teenage sensation, but it appears like Liverpool have gotten a jump on their rivals. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, after sealing a deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, the Reds would pursue a deal for Lavia as their next target. Midfield was always going to be the area of Liverpool's team that Jurgen Klopp would strengthen during the transfer season. Last season, the Reds struggled to dominate games and provide adequate cover to their backline, finishing outside of the Premier League top four and failing to qualify for the Champions League.
