The United Nations Office for Project Services is moving from Denmark to Kenya

The United Nations (UN) is relocating its Africa project management division to Nairobi in order to focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in African countries. The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) will relocate to Nairobi, the UN's southern hemisphere headquarters. Despite the fact that UNOPS, a self-financing organization, has its Africa Regional Office under the same roof as its global headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, it frequently conducts projects in crisis-hit nations across the continent, particularly those at war or in the midst of conflict. "This change allows us to be more responsive to peace and security, humanitarian, and development needs across the continent." "We look forward to assisting our partners in achieving the SDGs in the African region from our new base in Nairobi," said UNOPS Africa Regional Director Ms. Dalila Gonçalves, who is also among UN officials visiting Nairobi this week. The UNOPS stated the transfer of its Africa Regional Office to Nairobi will be completed by the end of the year.
