The NCC warns of malware-related AI-generated YouTube videos

Nigerians are being warned not to use AI-generated pirated software on YouTube by the Nigerian Communications Commission's Computer Security Incident Response Team (NCC-CSIRT). In a statement signed by its director of public affairs, Reuben Muoka, the NCC-CSIRT warned that users who visit such websites risk becoming victims of cybercriminal gangs who use AI-generated YouTube videos to distribute malware to unsuspecting site visitors. When unsuspecting victims gain access to websites infiltrated by these hackers, they will be tricked into watching some AI-generated tutorial videos, after which a dubious link will be shared and the visitor will be tricked into clicking. A single click by an unsuspecting visitor allows hackers to attach data-stealing malware to the victim's files.
