Transcorp Hotels strengthens corporate governance, appoints Ukiri as Non-Executive Director

Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality division of Transcorp Group, has reaffirmed its dedication to corporate governance by appointing Alhaji Garba Abubakar, a former Registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission.During his tenure at CAC, Abubakar was praised as one of Nigeria's most reform-minded heads of agency, and he put a lot of effort into drafting the business-friendly Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020. In addition, he spearheaded the drive to digitalize the agency and close all doors to bureaucratic roadblocks. Among other innovations, this resulted in the introduction of virtual AGMs around the nation.
