Rack centre trains artisans from host communities to build LGS2 Data centre

A sustainability program has been started by Rack Centre, West Africa's Best-connected Carrier and Cloud neutral data center, to teach local craftsmen to work on the construction of LGS2, a brand-new best-in-class data center in Lagos, Nigeria. The new structure would increase and expand the company's capabilities to service more Nigerian customers. The new data center is built on a 20,000 square meter green field location and sits at a height of more than 30 meters above sea level. It is located in Oregun, the center of Ikeja, with convenient access to the main commercial centers of Lagos. A 13.5MW increase in IT demand would result from this expansion for Rack Centre's Lagos location. The empowerment initiative, which is in line with Rack Centre’s commitment to sustainable development and social impact, will provide artisans with the skills and training they need to work on the construction of LGS2 and empower them to be involved in world-class construction projects.
