Ugandan farmers have demonstrated their trust in the nation's insurance providers

For the fiscal year ending in June 2022, the number of agricultural insurance contracts in Uganda climbed by 116,416; this represents a rise in confidence for a sector that had previously been plagued by extreme mistrust. The number of farmers receiving insurance to safeguard their produce against risks increased from 259,224 in June 2021 to 375,640 in June 2022, according to data from the Agro Consortium, also known as the Uganda Agriculture Insurance Scheme, showing that more farmers are now protected against insurable risks.
