Upward review in cost of cooking gas hikes price to ?745 per kg

Following an increase in the price of the product, Nigerians are currently struggling with an increase in the cost of cooking gas.Recent investigations have shown that nationwide, the cost of cooking gas has increased by 9%, from #680 to #745  per kilogram. The increase coincides with the worldwide price increase and other economic-related turbulence. Marketers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) claim that the price increase is in line with the association's notice of price increases scheduled to begin on September 1, 2023. Remember that Olatunbosun Oladapo, President of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGM), predicted a price increase for LPG starting in the middle of August 2023. Oladapo’s reason was based on rising international prices, high tax rates, high prices of vessels, forex scarcity, and naira devaluation.
