PalmPay CEO urges users to make online security top priority

Users were urged to be technologically literate by Nwosu.Consumers must put their online safety first, according to Chika Nwosu, MD/CEO of PalmPay, a fintech pioneer with 25 million users in Nigeria. This is especially important in light of recent data showing a surge in Nigerians using electronic platforms for transactions that were previously primarily cash-based.Speaking at the recent 4th Africa Financial Technology Congress in Lagos, Nwosu urged audience members to be computer savvy. According to him, "having a two-step verification on WhatsApp to thwart hackers is as basic as being online safety savvy. There must always be customer consent, whether it is given intentionally or unknowingly, for fraud to occur.
