Work on palliatives for subsidy removal, Tinubu tells Shettima-led NEC

Tinubu entrusted the NEC, led by Shettima, with devising interventions to lessen the impact of subsidy reduction on Nigerians.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged the National Economic Council (NEC) led by Vice President Kashim Shettima to develop a strategy and initiate the process of working on interventions to soften the impact of the loss of gasoline subsidies on the Nigerian people.According to the Nigerian Constitution, the NEC is composed of state governors and is normally led by the Second-in-Command. Meanwhile, Tinubu issued the advice following a meeting with some big oil marketers at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. The Ogun State Government confirmed this.
