Buhari apologizes for causing agony and suffering to Nigerians

Buhari acknowledged that some of his decisions over the last eight years have hurt Nigerians.President Muhammadu Buhari has apologized to Nigerians who have suffered as a result of some of the policies enacted by his administration over the last eight years.The President apologized in his last message to Nigerians as Commander-in-Chief, which aired on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Buhari, who is preparing to give over power to President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in less than 24 hours, took time to reflect on his eight years in government. While thanking Nigerians for their support, President Buhari stated that he is leaving the country better than he found it when he took office in 2015. The President also stated that his administration created millions of job opportunities for Nigerians and that the country attained self-sufficiency in food production, among other things, as a result of his policy interventions. He stated that he is leaving office as a fulfilled person as a result of some of the strides his administration achieved to prepare Nigeria for future growth, and he urged the people to rally behind the new administration so that the country may capitalize on the foundation his administration has laid.
