WAEC ensures the safety of candidates as the 2023 WASSCE begins on Monday
WAEC stated that it could not pretend to be unaware of the level of insecurity in the country, and that holding examinations under such circumstances was a difficult assignment.According to the West African Examinations Council, suitable safeguards are in place to ensure the safety of all school candidates who have enrolled for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).The guarantee was given by the council's Head of National Office (HBO), Patrick Areghan, during an interactive session with newsmen on the level of preparations for the nationwide examination on Thursday in Lagos.The WAEC boss said that the council could not feign ignorance of the level of insecurity in the country, hence conducting examinations under such situation had been a daunting task. Areghan claimed that the examination would take place from Monday, May 8 to Friday, June 23, a span of seven weeks.
