62 Sokoto convicts get freed thanks to Senator Wamakko's efforts

Senator Wamakko's efforts result in the release of 62 Sokoto prisoners.62 prisoners serving varying imprisonment terms in Sokoto State's correctional facilities have been freed thanks to Senator Aliyu Wamakko.Additionally, Wamakko, a senator from Sokoto North, handed each of the 62 liberated prisoners N10,000 so they could get home on their own. The intention, according to him, was for them to be able to spend Eid al-Fitr with their families. The senator urged them to behave well and refrain from making the same mistakes that landed them in the correctional facilities. The recipients expressed their gratitude to Wamakko for the thoughtful gift and pledged to act honorably when they rejoined society at large. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the lawmaker initiated the programme in 2016, as part of his humanitarian intervention programme.
