I won’t campaign for PDP if Dino wins Kogi governorship ticket — Wike

The Rivers State governor believes the PDP will lose the governorship election if Melaye is nominated. As Senator Dino Melaye entered the Kogi governorship race, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike stated his position on the state's upcoming governorship election. Wike believes Melaye lacks the qualifications to compete for such a political position. The governor stated this during a media chat with selected journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. "You know Dino won't win in Kogi State when you give him that ticket." Why would Kogi people claim to support a candidate like Dino? "Are we kidding?" He stated. According to him, the fact that someone is from a specific location does not guarantee electoral success if that person runs in an election.
