Peter Obi answers to FG's accusations of treason

Peter Obi, the Labour Party's nominee for president, has refuted claims made by Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Communication, that he is attempting to incite an uprising in Nigeria. In a statement issued on Tuesday, March 4, 2023, Obi denied Mohammed's accusation and referred to it as "fictitious." Reply from Peter Obi to Lai Mohammed It is unfortunate that such high-ranking officials keep trying to portray me in a way that is at odds with my genuine nature and views, Obi said. "Minister Lai's claim that I am inciting an uprising is completely vicious and incorrect," I said. Obi continued by claiming that he has never backed or preached any action against the Nigerian state, nor has he ever participated in or urged anyone to undermine it. He claims that those making these accusations are increasingly using their official positions and standing to level defamatory accusations against him. "I have always advocated for peaceful and issue-based campaigning, and have never campaigned based on ethnicity or religion," he added. "I am dedicated to due process and am currently pursuing legal action in court."
