Labour Party rejects members who suspended the party's national chairman as imposters

The suspension was imposed due to allegations of forgery, perjury, financial mismanagement, and anti-party activities. On Monday, the Labour Party passed a vote of confidence in its National Chairman, Julius Abure, who was allegedly suspended by a faction within the party. The party recalled that some groups claiming to be Ward 3 party executives in Edo, led by Ward Chairman Martins Osigbemhe, had previously announced the suspension of the LP national chairman. The suspension was imposed due to allegations of forgery, perjury, mismanagement of funds, and anti-party activities, among other things. Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the chairman of the party in Edo State, Kelly Ogbaloi, said the constitution of the party did not empower any group or party members to suspend a national officer who was elected by national convention.
