The NCC will construct emergency communication centers in 36 states

According to the NCC, telecom operators have been mandated to route emergency calls from each state to the state's emergency centers via the dedicated three-digit toll free number 112. The Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) plans to construct emergency communication centers in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The goal is to bridge the gap between the country's distressed and emergency response agencies. Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Chairman of the Commission, stated this in Enugu on Saturday during their special day at the ongoing Enugu International Trade Fair. Danbatta, who was represented by Reuben Muoka, the NCC's Director of Public Affairs, stated that all telecom operators were required to route emergency calls through the dedicated three-digit toll free number 112, from each state to the state's emergency centers.
