The Edo State Government has announced new school certificate exam dates
Exams scheduled for March were rescheduled due to a conflict with the 2023 State House of Assembly election. The Edo Government has announced new dates for the state's school certificate examinations. The 2023 Middle Basic Examination (MBE), also known as the Primary Six Certificate Examination, has been rescheduled for May 6, according to a statement issued on Sunday in Benin by Dr. Oni Ekhosuehi, Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Education. On behalf of the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe, Ekhosuehi stated that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), formerly known as the Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE), would be held from May 2 to 5. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the examinations, which were scheduled for March, were postponed due to a conflict with the 2023 State House of Assembly election.
