Regarding the Lagos-Calabar Highway project, Atiku attacks Tinubu with new allegations

Concerns were voiced by Atiku over the Tinubu administration's choice to allot ?1.06 trillion for the first phase of the project, which accounts for a mere 6% of the total expenditure.Regarding the transparency of the costs associated with the Lagos-Calabar highway project, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been questioned by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) presidential candidate in the most recent election.In a statement made public on Tuesday, Atiku encouraged the Tinubu administration to disclose the project's full cost, stressing the value of openness in light of Nigeria's present economic challenges. Atiku raised reservations about the process and questioned the Tinubu administration's choice to give the contract to Gilbert Chagoury's Hitech without conducting a competitive bidding procedure through his Media Advisor, Paul Ibe. Additionally, he questioned why the Tinubu administration set aside ?1.06 trillion for the first phase, which accounts for 6% of the project. This phase starts at Eko Atlantic and ends at the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
