Plateau University won't be closed by NUC due to the certificate scandal – Registrant

Ayuba went on to say that no employees, not even those who had recently started work in the newly established departments, had been let go by the university administration. The Plateau University, Bokkos administration has refuted rumours circulating in the media that the National Universities Commission (NUC) intended to close the school. The university's registrar, Yakubu Ayuba, refuted the accusation in a statement released in Jos on Sunday. The All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed that the NUC had completed plans to liquidate the institution in a statement made by Shittu Bamaiyi, the party's acting publicity secretary in Plateau, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). In the statement, Bamaiyi also claimed that the NUC had decided to revoke the institution's accreditation and recognition certificate. However, the registrar said that the accusation was not only malicious but also untrue and misleading, especially because it originated from a political party that has no place running a university.
