Nigeria had intended to launch a satellite into space domestically in 2025, but that is no longer feasible

Nigeria is building the necessary capacity, but it is not yet financially prepared.The National Space Research and Development Agency's (NASRDA) Director-General, Dr. Halilu Shaba, claims that the organization's 2025 ambition to launch a satellite from Nigeria is no longer viable.This was said by Shaba at the NASRDA Day presentation at the 8th Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Expo, which is currently taking place in Abuja under the subject STI: Solutions to National Economic Challenges.The subject of the director general's speech was New Space: Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda. He claims that although though satellite launches need a large amount of resources, the organization is not financially prepared, but it is building the necessary capability.
