IGP forbids POS equipment from police stations in an effort to prevent officer corruption
The IGP states that his officers would not compromise on their absolute adherence to the instruction.Point-of-sale (POS) terminals and other electronic mobile money transaction gadgets have been outlawed in police stations across the country by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.The chief of police stated that there are serious hazards associated with using the devices at police facilities. These concerns include the possible breach of private data, financial irregularities, and the encouragement of illegal activity.The 59-year-old stipulated that his subordinates must strictly follow the instruction; there is no room for negotiation.
